The title "2008/2009 New Zealand Forecaster of the Year" was awarded to David Steele at the Fifth Annual Forecast Dinner held on 12 November 2009 at the Auckland Club. Frank E Holmes of US Global Investors presented in the event.  David, a private investor, was presented with his trophy, an engraved crystal ball on a glass plinth, and applauded at the dinner.
